Today's class made my brain hurt. It was weird reading a poem that was incomprehensible. I learned a new word though and I am going to start using it often. I also learned who Gwendolyn Brooks is. I enjoyed the poem because it had a strong message and exposes the truth about communities that can have strong leaders, but there will always be someone or a group of people that will ruin it. Her tone was straightforward and after watching the video, it was clear that one of the adolescents was a follower and realized it was to late to turn back.
